Hemiquantal treatment of low energy p+H2 collisions

چکیده
Synopsis We present calculations of charge exchange and vibrational excitation cross sections in low energy p+H2 collisions. These cross sections are obtained by means of an hemiquantal treatment which uses Diatomics In Molecules (DIM) diabatic wavefunctions of the H3 molecule. The hemiquantal approach allows to distinguish the nonreactive, dissociative and nuclear exchange contributions to the electronic reaction paths.

Vibration-vibration and vibration-translation energy transfer in H2-H2 collisions: a critical test of experiment with full-dimensional quantum dynamics.
Quantum scattering calculations of vibration-vibration (VV) and vibration-translation (VT) energy transfer for non-reactive H2-H2 collisions on a full-dimensional potential energy surface are reported for energies ranging from the ultracold to the thermal regime. The efficiency of VV and VT transfer is known to strongly correlate with the energy gap between the initial and final states. In H2(v...

We report quantum-mechanical close-coupling calculations for rotational state resolved cross sections for p-H2+HD collisions. The low temperature limit of p-H2+HD is investigated, which is of significant astrophysical interest in regard to the cooling of primordial gas and the interstellar media. Sharp resonances have been reproduced in the cross sections of some transition states at very low k...

Quantum close-coupling and coupled-states approximation scattering calculations of rotational energy transfer in CO due to collisions with H2 are presented for collision energies between 10(-6) and 15,000 cm(-1) using the H2-CO interaction potentials of Jankowski and Szalewicz [J. Chem. Phys. 123, 104301 (2005); 108, 3554 (1998)]. State-to-state cross sections and rate coefficients are reported...
متن کاملCollisions of low-energy antiprotons and protons with atoms and molecules
Antiproton (p̄) collisions have evolved to a powerful tool for the testing of dynamic electron correlations in atoms and molecules. While advances in the understanding of p̄ collisions with the simplest oneand two-electron atoms, H and He, have been achieved experiment and theory did not agree for low-energy p̄ + He collisions (< 40 keV), stimulating a vivid theoretical activity. On the other hand...
متن کاملInfluence of a new potential energy surface on the rotational (de)excitation of H2O by H2 at low temperature
Aims. Using a newly determined 5D potential energy surface for H2–H2O we provide an extended and revised set of rate coefficients for de-excitation of the lowest 10 paraand 10 orthorotational levels of H2O by collisions with para-( j = 0) and ortho-H2( j = 1), for kinetic temperatures from 5 K to 20 K. Methods. Our close coupling scattering calculations involve a slightly improved set of couple...
